Bunk'Art 1 is a museum in a former secret nuclear bunker on the eastern outskirts of Tirana, at the foot of Mount Dajt. Built in the 1970s for dictator Enver Hoxha and top officials in case of nuclear war, it spans 5 underground levels with 106 rooms, including Hoxha's personal quarters and a command hall. It opened as a museum in 2014.
Reach it by bus No. 11 from the center (40 ALL, 30–45 minutes) or taxi (about 1,000 ALL / ≈€10). Entry is through a 200 m tunnel cut into a hillside – the approach is part of the experience. The Dajti Ekspres cable car station is a 10-minute walk away.
Admission is 900 ALL (≈€9 / $10), combo ticket with Bunk'Art 2 costs 1,300 ALL (≈€13). Allow 1.5–2.5 hours. It's cool inside even in summer – bring a light jacket.
