Bečići Beach is famous for its wide shoreline and clear water. It offers plenty of space for families and water activities alike. A promenade links Bečići with Budva, turning a seaside stroll into a pleasant mini-journey.

What this place is
Bečići Beach is a broad sandy strip on the Budva Riviera between capes Zavala and Đevištinje, regarded as one of the largest and best-equipped beaches on the southern Adriatic.
Key features
- Length ~1.95–2.0 km, area ~99,000 m², width up to ~50 m – a rare, very large sandy beach for Montenegro.
 - Awarded the Grand Prix in Paris in 1935 as Europe’s most beautiful beach; about three decades later received the “Golden Palm” for the Mediterranean.
 - Multicolored sand formed by four streams; gentle, even sea entry.
 - Split into hotel and public sections; water quality is consistently high.
 - A seafront promenade and short tunnels connect it with Budva and Kamenovo via Rafailovići.
 
History
Resort development intensified in the early 20th century; in 1935 the beach gained international recognition in Paris. A continuous coastal walkway linking Budva, Bečići and Kamenovo took shape.
In the 1960s the beach received further professional accolades, while infrastructure expanded with major hotels and organized bathing sectors. Today it remains a flagship leisure zone of the Budva Riviera.
Location: Budva Riviera, between capes Zavala and Đevištinje, by Bečići and Rafailovići.
How to get there: on foot from Budva along the seafront via the tunnel under Zavala; by car via the Adriatic Highway (parking usually paid in season).
Access: free; paid services include sunbeds, umbrellas and water activities; some sectors are hotel-managed.
Visiting hours: bathing season typically May–October.
Visit duration: from 2–3 hours to a full day.
Best time: morning and late afternoon for softer light and less heat; peak season can be crowded.
Special conditions: bring water shoes for mixed sand-pebble patches; follow marked swimming zones and local safety rules.
