History

Early access relied on a walkers’ lift and then a chairlift, until 1980 when the fully underground funicular opened. The valley portal sits by the River Vispa at the tunnel entrance.

In 2005, the Sunnegga–Blauherd link was upgraded with a combined installation including 8-pax gondolas, and the top section to Rothorn runs by aerial cableway. In the 21st century, Sunnegga evolved into a family hub with Wolli Park and easy Leisee access.
