Velika Plaža
Twelve kilometres of sand beach east of Ulcinj.
This wide shoreline runs as far as the Bojana mouth. It is valued for open space and an even entry to the water. Dunes and natural patches survive on the fringes.

What this place is
Velika Plaža (“Big Beach”) is a 12 km ribbon of soft sand in Montenegro’s far south (Ulcinj), running from Port Milena canal to the Bojana River mouth. It’s Montenegro’s longest beach and a flagship kite spot on the Adriatic.

Getting there: 10–15 min drive from Ulcinj; roadside parking by kite bases/beach bars. 1.5–2 h from Budva/Podgorica.
Facilities: sunbed/umbrella rental, showers/changing in serviced areas; sparse amenities on wild sections.
Season: May–Oct (kite prime: Jun–Sep).
Safety: modest currents; respect buoyed swim areas and kite corridors. Typical summer: water 23–25 °C, air 28–34 °C.
Pack: high-SPF, hat/rashguard, sandals for hot sand; light wetsuit in shoulder months if kiting.
