History

Mountain Studios opened in 1975 at the casino; Queen started working here in 1978, bought the studio in 1979 and owned it to 1996. Many artists recorded here, from David Bowie to the Rolling Stones.

After Mercury’s final 1991 sessions the studio continued operating before conversion. The public exhibition Queen: The Studio Experience launched on 2 December 2013, with Brian May and Roger Taylor; it is run by the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
