History
The Msheireb Downtown project began in 2010, developed by Msheireb Properties, part of Qatar Foundation. Its goal was to revive Doha’s historic center while maintaining cultural identity and creating a modern, livable environment.
Between 2011 and 2022, construction progressed through six phases, combining restored heritage houses with new structures inspired by Qatari architectural traditions. Each quarter integrates residential, business, and community functions.
Completed in 2022, the project earned international recognition as one of the most sustainable and intelligently designed urban districts in the region.
